What's In My Christmas Day Makeup Bag.
It's taken me a while to narrow it down to what makeup look I want to go for on Christmas Day, it's even harder now that I don't live at home and cannot carry all my makeup to my Mum's if I decide I want to do something different so I've been thinking long and hard about the look I want to create for Christmas Day and here are what choices I've made to take:
I've decided for the base I'm going to prime with Soap & Glory One Heck Of A Blot primer. Not only does this feel good when applied to the skin, it makes my makeup last all day, without it looking oily or greasy. I then thought I'd take my very reliable Nars Sheer Glow foundation. I know this gives me a flawless finish and it isn't too over powering on the dewyness finish. I do prefer a matte foundation in the Winter months but decided on Christmas Day I want more of a natural glow. To conceal any blemishes I my have I have popped in my Collection concealer in the shade cool medium to ensure all my blemishes are well hidden and boy does this concealer hide them. To highlight my under eyes I have opted for a new favourite of mine the Kat Von D concealer in the lightest shade, I like this one as it is very light and will cover the dark circles I'll most probably have due to waking up super early to open my presents. To set my under eyes I've added in the Morphe Translucent powder so I can 'bake' it all in place.
For cheeks, I've opted for another new favourite of mine which is the Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer in the lightest one for a natural bronze look to my face. I've then added in my newest blush which is Nars Deep Throat, this is a very recent purchase of mine and I haven't yet used it so I thought when better to try it, than on Christmas Day. I decided for Christmas Day I wanted the Queen of all highlighters so of course theBalm's Mary Lou has found it's way into my makeup bag.
I wanted to go bronze with my eyes this year, so I added in my NYX HD eye primer so I can prime my eyes so ensure my eye makeup stays in tact all day. Then I thought it'd be the perfect way to really test the new MAC x Mariah Carey eyeshadow palette in the shade 'I'm that chick you like' which contains 4 gorgeous nude/bronze/brown shades perfect for the look I want to create. I will the be adding a little bit pigment to my eyes to make me feel all festive and I've opted for a Barry M Dazzle Dust in the shade 44. I will then finish off the eye look with my trusty mascara which is of course Too Faced Better Than Sex.
For my brows I shall be filling them in with two trusty Benefit products. I love filling in my brows with Browzings by Benefit, I think it matches perfectly to my brow shade and it's easily fixed if I go wrong. I then set them in place with Benefit Gimmie Brow. I then use the concealer shown above to sculpt out my brows for a more defined look.
To really finish off my festive makeup look, I've gone for a red lip. I've gone for MAC Diva which is a gorgeous matte shade and will hopefully finish off my makeup look nicely. I've then popped in some of my favourite ever lashes by Fleur De Force for Eylure which are the Fleur Loves ones. To finish off my makeup look and set it all in place I shall be using the Urban Decay All Nighter setting spray to make sure it lasts all day.
